Tour Plan
You arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi for an overnight stay, where you'll receive a briefing about the trek.
After breakfast, you drive to the Lemosho Gate (2,100m / 6,900ft) and begin your trek through the lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750m / 9,000ft), enjoying a hike that takes approximately 5-6 hours.
On this day, you trek from Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp (3,610m / 11,847ft), continuing through the rainforest and enjoying views of Kilimanjaro. This hike lasts about 5-6 hours.
Today, you trek from Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,840m / 12,535ft), exploring the Shira Plateau and enjoying stunning views of Kibo Peak. This trek takes approximately 3-4 hours.
You will trek from Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp (3,960m / 13,000ft), passing the Lava Tower (4,600m / 15,091ft) for acclimatization and breathtaking views. This hike lasts about 5-7 hours.
Today, you ascend the Barranco Wall, leading to a trek to Karanga Camp (3,995m / 13,100ft). This day includes breathtaking views and takes about 4-5 hours of hiking.
On this day, you trek from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m / 15,331ft), where you'll rest and prepare for the summit attempt. This hike takes about 4-5 hours.
You begin your summit ascent at midnight to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m / 19,341ft) at sunrise. After taking in the stunning views, you will descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m / 10,171ft), where you’ll spend the night.
