7-Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, famous for its diverse primate population, particularly chimpanzees. The scenic drive will take you through Uganda’s picturesque countryside, tea plantations, and rural villages. Arrive at your lodge near Kibale in the afternoon. Relax and prepare for your chimpanzee trekking experience the next day. Dinner and overnight at your lodge near Kibale Forest.

Begin the day with an early breakfast and head to Kibale Forest for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will trek through the lush forest to locate and observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat. After lunch, you’ll visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you can spot various bird species and other primates. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular safari destinations. En route, enjoy stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive through the Kasenyi Plains, where you might spot elephants, buffaloes, lions, and various antelope species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Start your day with an early morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s savannah plains. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, home to large populations of hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. The cruise provides an excellent opportunity for photography and wildlife viewing. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. On your way, pass through the scenic Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions. Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the afternoon, and spend the evening relaxing and preparing for the gorilla trekking adventure. Dinner and overnight at your lodge near Bwindi.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and protocols. You will then set off into the dense rainforest, accompanied by experienced rangers, to track and observe a family of mountain gorillas. This awe-inspiring encounter is often described as one of the most profound wildlife experiences in the world. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you may opt for a cultural visit to the Batwa community or relax at your lodge. In the evening, you will be transferred to Entebbe for your departure flight or an overnight stay (depending on your flight schedule).
